Testimonials

[My girls] really enjoyed themselves. They are hoping to attend any future events. I would like to get involved with your program as well. I think its important to spread a positive word to today's Generation and let them know about the Love of God through personal experiences that we have and continue to have... ~ Rose (Mom)

What is an ie girl Group?
ie girl Groups are for girls 12 - 20 and the women who love them (moms, mentors, grandmas, and women from your church or community).  These are local groups that meet on a regular basis for encouragement, discipleship, accountability, and service to inspire excellence in everything by example.  Women Alive and ie girl equip leaders in each city to facilitate their ie girl group with our specially designed ie girl mentoring and discipleship curriculum.

Each ie girl Group session includes games, group discussion, Bible study, and prayer.  The curriculum is based on our ie girl theme verse, 1 Timothy 4:12, "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity."  Each week features a different young person from the Bible.

Groups are generally 5 - 15 people in size, allowing for interaction, relationship building, and intentional discipleship.  When groups become larger, we encourage starting a second group.

Who can be involved in an ie girl Group?
ie girl Groups are a unique approach to growing in your faith, not just for girls 12-20, but also for their moms, mentors, and youth leaders.   This includes opportunities for full group discussion, as well separate times for just moms and just girls.  ie girl Groups function as a ministry to the local church, providing a new approach to ministry to teen girls.

Who can start an ie girl Group?
Any woman or teen girl with a passion for reaching the next generation for Christ can start an ie girl group! The ie girl Curriculum may be used in conjunction with a church youth ministry, or be led by a woman or teen girl in her home or school to reach the broader community.

How often do groups meet?
We recommend that groups meet weekly in order to establish relationships, trust, and regular discipleship.  However, the curriculum is flexible to meet the specific needs of each group.  In some cases, groups may meet biweekly or once a month.

Each group session is designed to last 1 - 1 1/2 hours.

Can I preview the ie girl group curriculum?
Yes!  We have a Leader's Guide that will help to answer any additional questions you may have about starting an ie girl group in your community and can also send you Session 1 as a sample of the curriculum.
